Comfortable older hotel
Liked: Friendly staff. Large rooms. Older hotel refurbished. Would stay again. Good location for our train travelling.

We enjoyed our stay
Liked: Breakfast was great, the sauna was very nice, and the hotel gave us the authentic lodge experience we were seeking. Definitely and older hotel with aging issues, but that was part of the charm for us. We really liked the balcony and the view from our room.
Disliked: Dinner was a big disappointment. I ordered the pork chop and it was dry and tough. The waiter also charged us for the pitchers of water we asked for. This wasn't bottled water, it was out of the sink.... so that was frustrating.
Liked: We loved our stay at Hotel Bären. It was very quiet, and our room was large and spacious with an extremely comfortable bed. The location was excellent, with a bus stop just a two-minute walk away and the Schynige Platte railway nearby, providing easy connections for day trips around the region. A helpful tip is to ask for your guest pass before you arrive. This allows you to take the bus from Interlaken to the hotel for free and continue using the local buses throughout your stay. The only small improvement would be complimentary tea and coffee in the room. A kettle was provided, but tea and coffee had to be purchased separately. It wasn’t a major issue, but it would have been a nice touch. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend Hotel Bären.

Disliked: The restaurant staff were rude and abrupt and the food un eatable.
