Good spot, no sleep — wrong place for a stopover

Liked: Very good location right on Piazza Grande, in the middle of Locarno. Breakfast is fine and the hotel restaurant is decent.

Disliked: This is more a hostel attached to a hotel than a hotel. The old-fashioned rooms and the shared bathrooms are not really the problem. The noise is. In the evening the noise from the square comes straight into the room, and at night it continues inside: people walk up and down the corridors constantly, mostly on their way to the shared bathroom, and they are not quiet about it. We hardly slept. If you are stopping here for one night on a long drive, which is what most guests seem to do, this is the wrong place. Book it only if noise does not bother you
