  Decent value, great location, awesome staff and a good breakfast

  Liked: Conveniently located between Locarno and Ascona with easy bus connections. The staff are amazing.

  Disliked: The hotel fell short of my expectations: the building is unattractive, the small garden is unusable, and the swimming pool is cold. My room was large but unwelcoming, the bathroom was very basic, and the view from the balcony—the very reason I booked this hotel—did not match the photos on the website; there are no gardens at the foot of the mountains, just noisy construction sites instead. Breakfast was very meager. The location is inconvenient, requiring a bus ride to reach Locarno or Ascona, and the area is noisy with heavy traffic. I wouldn’t give this hotel more than 2 stars.

  Liked: Lovely clean well sized room with comfortable beds and good view. Had everything needed for a short stay. Very good breakfast included. Good temperature in room. Good shower in fairly spacious bathroom. Easy and frequent bus service to town.

  Disliked: A kettle in room would have been good but not a big deal. We weren't made aware of the internal shortcut to breakfast room.

  It was ok

  Liked: The breakfast was really good.

  Disliked: The room is just..functional. It lacks comfort, cozyness, it looks old and unwelcoming. It gets the job done, providing a roof over your head, but that's all. The AC or some equipment made a lot of noise during the night. The pillows are so damn uncomfortable, better sleeping witout. The shower curtain has mold at the bottom.. It's the small details that all together make a big diffrence. The hotel has a lot of potential but it requires some interiour renovation; I didn't feel that the value received matched the money paid, and that's a pity because they are a hotel in Locarno, such a beautiful city and the hotel itself looks very nice from the outside. Also, some of the staff needs to learn a thing or two about hospitality: when I checked in there was a rude receptionist, it was close to end of the program, so maybe she was just tired of people. The rest of staff was very nice with us.

  Once settled, a pleasant stay, within short walking distance of bus to marina and restaurants

  Disliked: Check in for our small group was very slow due to issues around secure parking in exceptionally tight underground car park
