So close to the perfect stay but a hotel that is highly recommended

Liked: This really is a fantastic hotel. In a really great spot near to the centre, the quayside, the bus station & the railway station but in a position where noise is not really an issue at all. The reception staff were really great on arrival and allowed me access to my room slightly earlier than check in usually allows so I could get rid of my big bag and continue enjoying a roam around Scotland. The room was fantastic. Very large in size with a massive bed which had the comfiest of mattresses and pillows - I slept very well which is amazing for me as I don't always sleep well in hotels. The bathroom had space to do everything needed and the shower was very large with a powerful stream of water to wake you up in the morning. All aspects of the hotel were incredibly clean and the housekeeping was done to a high standard each day (they do offer the chance to miss this in exchange for some membership points as part of their "eco drive")

Disliked: This was a near perfect stay and would have been 10/10 except for the fact my key card wouldn't allow me access to my room as I arrived back for my final night. When arriving back late at night and just wanting to collapse into bed, it's a massive inconvenience to have to go to reception for them to reactivate your key card. And this is a trend creeping into a lot of hotels these days which feels very bizarre!

    Great location and price!

Liked: Location was perfect! We were able to take the bus easily from Union Station or Adelphi. There are tons of places to grab a quick bite within 200m walk. The staff was so friendly and helpful. It was no problem to leave our luggage and come get it later in the day. The breakfast was a good choice. If you book it the night before, it is cheaper than in the morning. The buffet had everything you could ask for and it was very clean.

Disliked: Our bathroom did not have a fan. It would have been helpful after showering. Otherwise everything was to our liking and we would definitely stay here again and recommend to our friends and family.

Disliked: Struggled to get invoices from reception and ended up with a separate invoice for each night.
