location and buildings were outstanding,but the expensive dinner was a disappointment

Classy, elegant hotel exuding charm and comfort
Liked: I forgot how beautiful the manor house and grounds were. Amazing bed, helpful staff, beautiful main house with interesting rooms and well-decorated; hiking boots available for several nice hikes; great room amenities; lovely bathroom and shower; beautiful grounds. First class all the way.
Disliked: Exterior door to rooms in block 6 had a special method needed to open the door. That would have been nice to know the first time I tried to open it.
A hidden gem, I have already booked our next stay
Liked: The most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed in.
Disliked: The hotel is just perfection, the staff couldn’t do enough to make our stay worthwhile.
Almost like living in a luxurious fantasy-world in an exclusive area of Castle Combe
Liked: Vast, expansive property that also translated into luxuriousness in the individual living quarters themselves. We were assigned to one of the row houses along the path towards the exit. It was very comfortable and the shower facilities enormous.
Disliked: Unable to book dinner reservations on the day of our arrival, but the timing just didn’t work out, can’t really blame them for that. Was looking forward to trying out the Michelin star… It was humorous seeing random people taking pictures pf the area outside once we checked in, but this ongoing parade of selfie-obsessed tourists started to get annoying after some time. This lasted until about dusk and started up again once the sun came up. The place is definitely photogenic, but that could be a curse in a way too.
