Liked: Great location. Easy walk into town
Old Captain Guest House convenient to Portree center
Liked: Location: 5 minute walk to Portree town center! Quiet neighborhood. Home is well decorated, very clean and up to date. Off street parking tight but host helped with placement. WiFi accessed by QR code. I've not seen that before and it worked well. Guests expected to remove outdoor footwear at entrance. Slippers provided for those without them. I am traveling with a friend and booked this place because it offers at least one room with twin beds.
Disliked: Sign for property is not prominent.
You get what you pay for
Liked: Friendly host, kitchen facilities were great
Disliked: Horrendous smell from the bedroom, the ‘sound proof’ wall paper was terrible, didn’t work and it also looked bad. Black mould in bathroom needs addressed
Good location and well kept house
Liked: Clean rooms and friendly staff. Breakfast food OK.
Disliked: Thin walls - could hear loud snoring in neighbouring room
It was a bed for the night but I wouldn’t choose to stay there again
Liked: Proximity to the centre of Portree
Disliked: It looks like fake partition walls have been put up to cramp more beds in. Very small room with a tv that screen programmes in French not British. Not the most welcoming owner.
