Splendid place, both traditional and modern, close to Catbells hiking route

Liked: Genuinely one of the best stays: comfortable, spacious, clean, close to the hiking routes toward Catbells. The view from my room was amazing, with the lake and hills rolling in the distance (also allowed me to evaluate the hiking conditions early). The place itself is of note: amazing breakfast, comfy room, everything I needed provided.

Disliked: Getting here is slightly tricky without the car: either a long-ish walk from Keswick, or a local bus.

Thoughtfully put together and attention to detail made this an enjoyable stay. Debbie was very obliging and a great hos

Liked: The host, Debbie has great attention to detail. Lovely bed linen and accessories were provided and the room was kitted out with all you could need. It was clean and the breakfasts were amazing and generous. Good location and easy to walk into the town centre.

Disliked: Nothing to fault really, however I booked the single room as it was the last room available. It was quite small and I had a suitcase so not a lot of storage. I’d definitely stay again and book a double room next time.

Very relaxing and would definitely stay there again and cannot recommend it enough

Liked: Debbie made you feel at home. The breakfast was gorgeous and her homemade lemon marmalade and homemade strawberry jam is lovely. I bought three jars to take home. I can recommend the american pancakes with lovely bacon and maple syrup. The array of fresh fruit and cereals was great too. Would definitely stay again in the future.

Disliked: I would have liked a bath as I do like to have a soak after a long walk but the shower worked great so I didnt miss it.

Skiddaw Croft was the perfect peaceful retreat—beautiful views, excellent breakfasts, superb walking

Liked: I just loved my room and the peace and quiet whilst sitting in the bay window admiring the views over Derwent Water and the fells. So much choice at the breakfast table all superbly presented. Super easy access to so many trails and a short walk to Keswick town centre. I am a lone traveller and appreciated the upgrade at no extra cost offered by the wonderful and charming Debbie!

Disliked: Nothing to dislike about Skiddaw Croft!
