Exceptional
Great location but several issues with the house. Unhelpful host
Liked: The location of this property is really central; Market Street is a short walk and there are restaurants and pubs all around it. The house is a good size as well. The living room is cozy.
Disliked: There were multiple issues with this rental. 1) We were told there was a dryer but there was none. It was a normal washing machine with spin cycle, forcing us to dry our clothes all around the house over several days (which was not only inconvenient but also took time out of our holiday). 2) The second floor bathroom was cold all the time. The towel rack heater was not working. I contacted the owner/ property manager but he did not know how the rack worked and did not provide any help for 4 days. He just couldn't be bothered. 3) The upstairs bathroom door was jammed/faulty. It had to be pushed in really hard to close and latch. I basically had to use the bathroom with the door slightly ajar for 4 days and when I once tried to close the door, the latch head fell off and I got injured in the process (my finger was bleeding). 4) Shower drains were not cleaned or were clogged leading to water buildup when we showered. I finally had to just remove the drain hole cover in my bathroom to avoid water buildup during my shower. 5) The house thermostat (Nest) auto-resets to 18 degrees so we'd come in from a day outside to cold house (which was frustrating on especially cold days). All the things mentioned above are essential needs given the time of year of the stay (October is cold already). We paid a decent amount for this house and there were several problems faced and the owner/property manager did not provide any assistance.
Perfect location which enabled us to explore
Liked: Location was excellent. Size of rooms good as well.
Disliked: Can be a bit noisy as near pubs but nothing that spoils anything.
Overall a good place to stay and we enjoyed our time there
Liked: Good location and spacious.
Disliked: * Cooker Hob - extremely old and dangerous. Needs replacing as the hot plates are crumbling. * Unable to run both showers at once as system not strong enough. * The clothes airer was broken and unusable. * A larger saucepan would have been useful, struggled to cook pasta for the whole group.
Perfect for a Short Visit, but Not Sure I'd Stay for 2 Months Again!
Liked: This location is superbly convenient. The only draw back is the occasional late night noise coming out from the alley beside the flat. There are lovely views from nearly every window. The kitchen is well equipped with dishes, cookware and good appliances. Both bathrooms are spacious, each with a decent shower (note: neither is en suite). Communication with the property manager is speedy and helpful. Parking a short walk away in the Otley Road Car Park is no problem. The Wifi and smart TV work well.
Disliked: The door doesn't close all the way for the primary bedroom on the 1st floor; this allows noise from the kitchen, dining area and sitting room to be heard in the bedroom. Also, the thermostat is programmed to 18º, which we found to be a little chilly for daytime. Upon request, the owner did adjust the daytime temp to 19.5º (much better!). The two stools I the kitchen have lost their oomph, sinking slowly if anyone sits on them. Lastly and most importantly, we found the sofa in the living room to be exceedingly uncomfortable. Maybe it's fine for young backs, but it did a number on our 60+ yr old spines!
Excellent, we would happily return
Liked: The location, views, space and parking were all spot on. It's location and easy access to town couldn't have been better. The abilty to stop briefly to load and unload was incredibly beneficial to us.
Disliked: The shower door kept opening mid shower, so had to be held in place with a shampoo bottle. The beds were a bit hard. There was outide noise but this wasn't unexpected due to it's town centre location.
Lovely stay in a perfect location
Liked: Very convenient location. Well equipped and clean. Would you mind?
Disliked: Wrong address on booking, listed as 19 on booking confirmation but actually is 19a. Also incorrect code given. Made entering the property difficult, although host very responsive.
