  Not Great

  Liked: Spacious 2 bedroom cottage, in a quiet location.

  Disliked: The TV didn’t work our whole stay The boiler kept losing pressure, so heating kept going off, which meant no hot water aswell. The shower temperature kept going from boiling hot to cold during our showers. The ceiling of the shower is full of mould. The Mattress in the double room was terrible, you could feel all the springs. There is a dryer, but no washing machine which I thought was very bizarre, so couldn’t wash clothes to use the dryer!! The place needs a deep clean, the kitchen in particularly. The oven tray was full of thick oil that had set, which was disgusting. Used dirty scourers left for us to use ( which we didn’t) and the cloths provided where not clean. Surfaces were sticky, including the kitchen dining table. One of the chairs were also broken, so not safe to sit on. The Dishwasher has some runners missing off the track, so pushing in the dishwasher rack was difficult with a full load. The paving slab outside the front door is very loose, not safe to stand on as it moves, and it’s on the top step. If all these things were fixed, the cottage would be great, as it’s nice and spacious, but very much let down by Maintenance and cleanliness. It was a reasonable price we paid to stay at the cottage, but with all the things I’ve mentioned, I wouldn’t stay again unless all the issues were rectified.

  Disappointing

  Liked: The location

  Disliked: The cottage was not in a very good condition ie, tv and spa bath both not working, kitchen dirty and smelly, floor uneven and creaking, glass table broken and left in the living room and exposed wires on the heating tank. The bed was very uncomfortable.

  Great views of the hills was warm and hot water worked but a lot of minor things to iron out

  Liked: It was remote views where beautiful was warm and water hot

  Disliked: Tv had no signal so couldn’t watch anything had to use my own data which has cost me more money when trying to use the glass table it came lose so the table top almost fell on my foot the freezer was dirty so we didn’t use it and the spare pillow in the bedroom cupboard was well worn and was stained there was a hoover that didn’t work and the spa bath didn’t work shouldn’t be advertised we were told about the tassimo coffee machine to bring our own but not told to bring dishwasher tablets or laundry tablets which we would have done we also had to buy more toilet roll as one roll wouldn’t last the 3 days we were there also could have used more towels and the bed duvet was small and worn out

  2 night stopover very successful

  Liked: Detached bungalow, spacious, nice views. Clean with good parking, steep to access, could be tricky in winter. Clear instructions and directions. Nice quality furniture, would visit again. 6 miles from pubs and cafes.

  Disliked: Mattress needs replacing, think some springs are broken. Appliances need attention as does the shower head.

  Location was great and remote. Cottage could just do with a few tweaks and some new towels and bedding

  Liked: Very remote and quiet. Scenery was beautiful.

  Disliked: There should be a warning on how steep the entrance road is up to the cottage. Not all cars would be able to do this. The bed was far too low and the bedding was very old. It was cold and there were no blankets. The central heating did not work and only one of the electric heaters worked. The wooden floor was really creaky when you walked on it. The towels were really grey and old and didn’t smell nice. There was a bad sewage smell outside the bathroom.
