  Mattresses are TERRIBLE, but the location and experience of the historic building are 10/10

  Liked: The location and atmosphere of The Abbey is second to none. It’s an experience to be able to stay in such a unique building, rich in history. The pool and games room are amazing, our 11 year old son really enjoyed the outside soccer pitch too. The central location and walking distance to the cafes and lock gates of Fort Augustus, are perfect.

  Disliked: We stayed in apartment 6, Old School. The apartment had an awful smell of curry/food, as soon as you walked in. It did not leave for the whole 7 days we stayed, even after the staff gave us another air freshener. The kitchen walls had old food stains etc and the apartment in general is a little dated. The worst part of our 7 day stay, was having to sleep on the TERRIBLE mattresses each night. The 2 single beds are tiny and the mattresses are possibly still the same ones the monks slept on! 😂 You can feel every metal spring.

  Liked: From the minute you arrive you are well looked after. A staff member greets you and shows you to which apartment you will be staying in. The apartment was lovely really big there was everything you could of wanted for your stay fully fitted kitchen to an on suite. The grounds of the monastery or just beautiful the short walk down to loch ness is lovely and the view you have of the loch is amazing.

  Excellent play to stay with lots of activities

  Liked: Absolutely excellent! Easily the best property I have ever stayed in on booking.com The apartment we rented was in top condition with all things catered for. It was very peaceful and relaxing. The Highland Club is excellent, within yards of Loch Ness, and has amazing activities to do whilst there. The standard of upkeep of facilities was very impressive. I will definitely stay there again with my family.

  Its in the perfect location, its full of character on Loch Ness and the locks and lots of places to eat or explore, we h

  Liked: It had everything we needed and we both slept better than we have for ages!

  Disliked: The check-in process is a bit annoying, we had to wait ages, but the guys checking us in are really nice, and I think when we turned up, so did quite a few others.
