    Enormous disappointment

Disliked: We stayed 16 days in Scotland and our stay in this place has been the only awful of our vacation. We never saw the owner, commucating only through messages and textos. When we arrive we observe there was no soap or shampoo. The bedding was mediocre – acrylic sheets and duvet that shed, and felt very uncomfortable against the skin. There was no storage space in the cupboard, which was taken up by two large bin bags (duvets?). The towels were probably white when they were new, or when they were washed at the right temperature... The first evening, as we wanted to watch the television, we observe that the batteries of the remote control were low. The owner told us that there were some new in a drawer. We never found any. Despite we bought new batteries we could not watch it during the three days of our stay. The only help we got was: "Watch the link to the video explaining how to use the tv". The heather has a program. It is cut during the night. We were cold the last night and morning. Once again, the only help we got was: "Watch the link to the video explaining how to use the heather". And then we receive a message to tell not to touch the buttons, someone will come to repair. Good for the next customers! The cleaning of the place was also poor. We found dog croquettes under the sofa and dirt in different spots. Unfortunately we did not find a video to explain us how to use the vacuum cleaner. More, as the owner has the will to rule his facility at distance, we noticed that an outside camera could survey the parking and, partly, the house we were staying. We found one review from an Australian couple, left several weeks before our coming, ( which was telling mostly exactly what we observed.) Since then nothing has been improved It’s a shame we didn’t read the negative reviews; we could have avoided this bad choice. It’s a lesson learnt when booking through Booking.com. From now on, I’ll make sure to read them.

    Good

    Liked: The location

Disliked: The centre heating and hot water could be on longer than 2 hours as it was from 27th Nov to the 3rd December and it was cold weather?
