  Liked: Everything from the arrival to leaving the rooms were clean tidy and had everything you needed, the reception staff were professional and polite The location is convenient to the town centre amenities and pubs

  I would certainly recommend this hotel

  Liked: The central location was perfect for our overnight stay this time. The room was large, the bed very comfortable, the sheets and towels were spotless and everything was clean and well presented.

  Disliked: We usually stay in apartments when we come to Scarborough and so we haven’t actually stayed here since 1989!! Showing my age!! 🫣🤣… I think 🤔 the carpets and settees in the communal areas might even be the same 🤣.. of course it is dated and the bathrooms really do need updating, however I totally understand that you need a far amount of money to do this. I feel the hotel does what it can with facilities it has.

  Short but sweet, would happily stay again

  Liked: Location was great, stylish, clean and a great old style lift. We were given a room overlooking the Grand and you could be on the beach within five minutes. Loved our stay which was too short

  Disliked: Didn’t order breakfast so can’t comment on that Maybe a fridge in our room would have been excellent with fresh milk

Good to know

Kindly note the there are 6 steps up to the front door and 12 steps down to the breakfast room which is not accessible by the elevator. Therefore it may not be suitable for guests with mobility impairment.

ACCESSIBILITY - The Riviera Town House is a 200 year old town house in the center of Scarborough. Due to the age of the building some guests may experience difficulty navigating the stairways to the 'Breakfast Room' and to the front door. There are 6 steps up to the front door. There are 12 steps down to the 'Breakfast Room' which the elevator does not access. There are also further internal steps/stairs which may be difficult to navigate. The passenger elevator is from the ground floor to all bedrooms. Our property may not be suitable for guests who have walking difficulties. Please contact us directly should you require more information.

PARKING - There is on street parking in the square outside the property. Sat Nav YO11 2ES [what3words:///care.farms.ticket]. Please obtain a parking scratch card from Reception for £7.00 which is valid for the day of purchase and until 1.30p.m. the following day. Blue badge holders may park in this area free of charge.

There are also several multi story car parks very close to the property ranging in price up to £12 for 24 hours. e.g. Palm Court Multi Story. Sat Nav YO11 2PS [what3words:///clean.herb.thinks].

Reservation is not possible in any of the above, however, guests should to be able to park happily in one of options.This property does not accommodate bachelor(ette) or similar parties.
