Never been so shocked in all my life, abusive intimidating establishment

Liked: Nothing, We did not stay because when we turned up he did not answer the door and I waited and rung the bell 3 times, I also rang the hotel number to ask where they were with no answer. Walked back to my car and waited 5 minutes and rang again still no answer. I then got through to the hotel manager on the phone and she said go back to the door I will ring the property to see what’s wrong. My wife went and rang the door bell and the person answered with a tirade of abuse asking why we rang his boss complaining we never waited long enough. We explained we had been here 30 minutes waiting. He wasn’t interested and told us to stay somewhere else. We then had to look for somewhere else late on in the day. Disgraceful behaviour and should be offered compensation and obviously our money back. Mr Snaith

    Bad experience

    Liked: Adequate breakfast

Disliked: No respect from the staff, issued with the wrong parking permit and received a penalty charge notice, this caused inconvenience. Having stayed at the Waves before I expected the same standards as my previous visits

    Comfortable bedroom, excellent breakfast

Liked: Excellent breakfast, pre-ordering worked fine. Food was what we ordered, tasty and well-cooked. Loved decor in dining room. Bedroom was comfortable, nice linen and towels.

Disliked: Room was a little small, but as we were only there one night, that wasn’t a problem. A bit quirky with the shower in the diagonally opposite corner of the room to the en suite but I suppose when fitting modern facilities into a Victorian building, there are compromises.

    Great location, accommodation and breakfast

Liked: Great location as we were at the Spa all weekend. Dan was very friendly and organised our parking pass within a few minutes of us arriving. He also helped carry our luggage, which was helpful, to Room 7 on Floor 2. Our room was cosy as described and it was what we had booked. For some people this room may be too small. The bed was comfy with top quality bedding. We pre booked our breakfast and it was served on time and exactly as requested. It was hot and tasty. The fruit and yogurt for starters was delicious and fresh. Overall our stay was great value for the money.

Disliked: The shower could benefit from re-grouting as it was grubby and black in many areas and it wasn’t particularly pleasant stepping into something like that considering the rest of the room and property are in great condition. Note: The shower is in the corner of the room built into a false wall. There’s a modesty door covering the glass shower door but it’s impossible to close it after closing the shower door.
