Beautiful place and stunning setting! Highly recommend

Liked: Large bedrooms (Beach House)Staff could of been more informative. Food excellent, breakfast too. Beautiful grounds

Disliked: Early morning wake up call was a bulldozer with a pecker breaking up the curb! A warning would of been nice as the whole room shook

    Liked: Perfect in every way

Disliked: The bar near the brasserie - lighting and coziness perhaps needs attention.

Lovely Hotel in a Lovely Location

Liked: I love the location of this hotel. A few miles north of Whitby so it was quiet and just minutes walk from the lovely beach. From there we walked along the beach to the picturesque village of Sandsend and we also walked to Whitby during our stay which was longer - about 45 minutes but a very pleasant walk along the beach. We stayed in the beach house where the reception staff were friendly and the room was spacious and clean. The hotel and grounds are beautifully kept and the decor throughout is lovely.

Disliked: During our stay we dined at the Beach House Pizzeria which I found rather disappointing. Firstly, due to the lack of plant based options or at least veggie options which could be made plant based. I ended up ordering a Panzanella salad, which given the price, I thought would be chunks of bread but it was a basic salad with a few croutons which was far from substantial and I had to order a side of fries which was not the most exciting meal. Also, the service was slow, having to wait for orders to be taken and plates to be cleared etc. Also, I appreciate that the hotel is dog friendly but in the restaurants it may be a good idea for there to be a seperate area for guests with dogs due to some people having allergies. I would also have appreciated more plant based options at breakfast, such as pastries. Overall, all of the staff we encountered were lovely and friendly, with the exception of a member of staff working at the wellness cafe who unfortunatley didn't provide service with a smile.

Disappointed apart from the food was absolutely beautiful so credit to the chef

Liked: The place itself is beautiful, rooms are lovely, spa is great.

Disliked: Bed was so uncomfortable, one of the two cups in the room had been used and not cleaned, we couldn’t get a table for a drink before our meal so where sent to the orangery where we had to stand and wait for a table to be cleared for us with 4 members of staff staring at us, then when we went for our meal in the restaurant the waiter was extremely arrogant and rude at times.
