Very good
Honestly.... We wouldn't stay again... Our opinion overall, reminded us of Cell Block H
Liked: The receptionist was helpful and the staff genuinely very pleasant. The rooms were spacious and the breakfast was fresh and palatable. It was close to the City Center and parking was close by.
Disliked: Disappointing that all five of us were put on separate floors, when we requested to be together. Didn't realise we had been allocated disabled rooms as we are all still very able bodied. Unfortunately there were no other rooms available.. However, in there defence we were told that they were the largest rooms in the hotel. Although that begs to believe what the others were like. Totally needed updating, rooms very dark, disabled shower rooms very tacky (like being in a hospital) Filthy Windows, covered in bird Poo. Corridors definitely needed attention. Bar had limited alcohol - No Vodka!! Outlook from hotel was very dissappointing - building site!!
Expensive poor Service
Liked: Not much really
Disliked: We requested an early check-in and was denied.. fair enough. They said check-in was at three. We sat from 1 o’clock in the lobby. Three other people came in and checked in early and then they came over to us and said our room had been ready. Also, once in the room, we had to use the card to turn on the electric with a little device inside the room, which was not explained to us maintenance had to come in to show us how it worked
Liked: Really good location, friendly staff, good breakfast
Disliked: It wasn't the cleanest, the stairways and halls were very run down and dirty in places, room wasn't cleaned the best, lots of dirt and litter behind the curtains and sink was a bit grubby
Liked: Location was great.
Disliked: Everything had a 'that'll do' feel about it. On receiving our key cards the sleeve had been used multiple times before and the room number was difficult to read. Beds were uncomfortable, pillows had a clumpyness to them, my daughters sofa bed shifted so I had to do some altering, wish I hadn't as there was a used tissue underneath the mattress which had seen better days. The wardrobe contained the ironing board but this had to be taken out to hang any long clothes, there was nowhere then to put said board so it had to be placed in front of the window. Breakfast, I've stayed in Holiday Inns in various parts of the country, this was by far the worse one. Bacon was overcooked and some had a tinny taste to them and the mushrooms were made of playdough. I will say the grilled tomatoes were nice, as were the sausages.
Liked: Very clean and spacious rooms, friendly staff and nice location.
Disliked: Booked a room with a a double bed, there were 2 single beds merged together in the room they kept rolling apart, so we did not sleep very well.
Liked: Nice clean room good breakfast and close to barbican which is why we was there
Disliked: Bed a bit uncomfortable
