Disliked: Requested twin were given a double Changed room to twin unfortunately bad smell in room from the bathroom staff tried to fix it but couldn’t so as compensation received a free breakfast
our stay in a Central well placed york hotel
Liked: Was perfect for what we wanted and needed.
Disliked: pillows bit hard for me. self check in screens not for me.
Hotel service excellent, dining room staff could benefit from additional training
Liked: Although the breakfast had excellent choices for all the hot buffet food was was just warm. I did comment on this to a member of staff at the time. Her response was "I'm sorry about that". Additionally, we were able to leave our luggage safely at the hotel whilst it was time to check in and again the following day. Thank you
Disliked: The evening meal in the restaurant was a disaster. Only 2 starters arrived instead of 3. This was rectified. Following on from this the main meals were brought to the table whilst we were only less than half way through to starters. Once the restaurant manager steeped in, the experience was very quickly turned around. We were given the experience of what one would expect in a hotel restaurant such as yours. He did give us a small reduction off the bill for which we were thankful. Fortunately, our son, who has disabilities, was able to remain calm throughout the issues when such circustances can result in great stress for him.

Great hotel location, no main light in room made it feel very dark
Liked: Great location, car park next door (if you can get a space) and a 5min walk to the city centre.
Disliked: The room didn't have a light on the ceiling sbg was very dark. We had to rely upon the wide lamps next to the bed and the tall lamp in the corner. Even during the day time the room felt dark.
