Pretty central, lots of bars and restaurants. Friendly staff, clean but basic and relatively cheap

Disliked: Hundreds of little black flies in bar area where food was being served not sure lady behind bar was aware of them because it was a poorly lit bar.
Close to everything, good value, friendly staff. Would stay again!
Liked: Staff were really friendly and helpful, location was amazing to explore York. We asked for a twin room on the lowest possible floor, and got it in the stable block. Rooms are pretty basic, but clean and warm. We stayed mid-week, and the bar was always quiet. As a larger person I'm pleased to say the shower was lovely and big!
Disliked: There is some noise from other rooms but was never disruptive to us during our stay. The mattresses are probably due to be changed. Information on check out and wi-fi was missing from the room, but staff were very helpful when finding out about either.
