I strongly advise future guests to think twice before booking this property

Disliked: Our last stay in Kaprun was extremely disappointing, not because of the accommodation itself, but because of the unacceptable way the hotel handled our security deposit. After our stay, a staff member contacted me via WhatsApp claiming that there was a stain on the living room sofa and insisting that we were responsible for it. I clearly explained several times that we did NOT cause this stain. However, instead of listening to our explanation or providing clear evidence that the damage occurred during our stay, the staff member refused to consider our side of the story and insisted on deducting the entire €300 security deposit. This is completely unfair and unacceptable. Guests should not be held financially responsible for damage they did not cause, especially when the property fails to establish that the damage occurred during their stay. What made this experience even worse was the staff member’s unwillingness to listen, communicate fairly, or handle the situation professionally. We were treated as though we were guilty without being given a fair opportunity to resolve the matter. A security deposit should not be treated as extra income or deducted based solely on an accusation. We expected honesty, professionalism, and fair treatment, but unfortunately, our experience was the complete opposite. I strongly advise future guests to thoroughly document the condition of the property upon arrival and before departure, and to take photos and videos as evidence. We strongly dispute this deduction and expect the €300 to be refunded unless the property can provide clear and credible evidence that we caused the alleged damage. This experience has seriously damaged our trust in this accommodation, and I would not recommend staying here unless the management takes responsibility for handling such disputes fairly and professionally.
