Excellent location, perfect for an overnight sleep, very kind host

Liked: Very good vibe "old style" building and apartment in the heart of Brussels, literally 1 corner away from the Main Square, Central Station is a short walk, very kind host, instant hot water in the shower, warm and large blanket, free coffee option in the kitchen on the first floor, free bottle of drinking water, surprisingly quiet room. The 200 year old (super narrow!) stairs is beautiful.

Disliked: Only minor issues: the wardrobe door gets stuck on the old floor (even makes some marks, which is a pity for such an old structure), the room can get steamy with closed windows, written briefing for operating the heater could be practical (I did not find the switch, my bad, I know, also should have asked), some loose nail or splinter on the old floor can grab your socks, water tap next to the sink is a bit loose, some stain marks on the duvet cover and the curtain, slightly damaged (however operational) hairdryer.

Liked: Fantastic location, just a few minutes walk from Brussels Midi train station (direct trains to the airport), the Grand Place, and the main sights of Brussels. Charming room with a comfortable bed, good shower and a communal kitchen on the 1st floor with with tea, coffee, plates, cutlery, a fridge, microwave etc for food. There's a Carrefour Express outside the station.

Disliked: The 200 year old stairs are steep and narrow (per pictures on the listing) and you really can only take small luggage up to the rooms. However the downstairs entrance hallway has room for larger items (check with host).

Liked: The level 3 apartment was tiny but adequate. The well-appointed kitchen is separate from the apartment and is located on level 2. The staircase is exciting, which made this one of the most memorable places that we have ever been in.

Disliked: There is no sign or street number to indicate that this was the apartment that we had booked. Through the window, it looked like an abandoned shop. There is nobody there to show us how to get inside or where the apartment key is located. We found the apartment key in an empty drawer in a cupboard. Luckily, there was a cleaner who let us into the lobby on street level and showed us how to use the entry door code. The "historic" spiral staircase is the steepest and narrowest that I have ever seen. Some may describe it as exciting. Most would say it it scary or even impossible to climb. Experienced mountaineers probably would not have a problem. We left our suit cases on the ground floor as they were impossible to carry them up to the apartment.

Glad I don’t have a lot of luggage and can manage narrow stairs. Nice room

Liked: Location is fantastic if you don’t mind the crowds. Very close to central station.

Disliked: A little noisy but convenient location. Great if it’s your first visit.
