Noisy Room, very tired hotel and reception staff were very dismissive
Liked: The only good and commendable thing to say about the property is that the location is central and fantastic.
Disliked: We arrived late on Thursday night and were given a double room on the 7th. The room was very tired and in need of refurbishment. There was mould around the bath in the bathroom, and the woodwork appeared to be rotting due to damp. Noise was also a significant problem: drilling started at 8:30am on Friday and 9:00am on Saturday, despite us being told there would be no building work over the weekend. On Sunday, there was further persistent noise that sounded like a pump running. Overall, the condition of the room and the repeated noise disturbances fell well below our expectations and significantly detracted from our stay. The shower experience was very bad, the shower head could not stay put in place and water just went everywhere in the bathroom flooding the floor. When I came down to reception to complain, there was a Spanish couple trying to check-out on the Saturday and wanted to leaved their luggage in the hotel until later in the afternoon. I speak Spanish and I offered to translate to the receptionist. She was curt with the guests, impatient with me doing the translating, extremely condescending and plain down obnoxious. Their staff need to bee better trained and perhaps more professional.

Disliked: Very old and dated, it’s a two stars hotel. Horrible rooms, disgusting bathroom, mould in the bath, a long hair stick to the wall, a broken toilet. You CANNOT rent out rooms in this state. And for an incredible high rate. Heating and safe were initially broken. Nightmare garage. Very average breakfast with disgusting coffee. Sorry but we are giving three as the staff at the reception were very apologetic and responsive. This hotel should be shut for full refurbishment or demolition! Shame on NH Hotels
