Amazing
Liked: Clean and comfortable
An excellent holiday home
Liked: An excellent holiday home within the park. The hosts are very welcoming and hospitable. The house is equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay; the kitchen has plenty of cookware and small appliances, making it easy to prepare meals and drinks. The beds are comfortable, and there is a wide selection of board games and books. The location is great—the terrace faces the forest, offering a very quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Several good supermarkets are just a 10-minute drive away. The only downside to our stay was that the park's swimming pool was out of order during the hottest days. However, this was obviously an unforeseen circumstance beyond the hosts' control. I would certainly recommend the house and the location overall.
Wonderful place
Liked: We had an absolutely amazing weekend here! The bungalow is beautiful, cozy, very clean, and perfectly equipped with everything you need. The location in the middle of the forest gives a wonderful sense of peace and relaxation, yet it’s a perfect base for hiking and exploring Durbuy. The hosts, Raymond and Silvia, are incredibly nice, helpful, and communicative. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to unwind. Highly recommended, we would love to come back!
Disliked: The only downside was that despite the park's rules clearly prohibiting loud music, our neighbor from the next cabin was playing music for a few hours every single day. It was quite disruptive when we wanted to fully enjoy the quietness of the forest.
The cabin was the perfect home base for a long-weekend getaway with our 3 boys and the dog
Liked: The location in the woods was exactly what we were looking for. The furnishings and decorations were lovely and there were even bunnies and chicks everywhere as it was Easter weekend. That was a really nice touch and was totally unexpected. The gas fireplace kept us warm and our boys made good use of the available drawing supplies. We never even got around to using the well-stocked board game cabinet because we were enjoying the basketball, ping-pong and pool facilities. Our 11 year old especially loved sleeping in the wall nook. The on-site brasserie was also a wonderful perk that we took advantage of multiple times. The darling town of Durbuy was only a 5-minute drive away and we made it there two days in a row for wandering, shopping and eating.
Disliked: We realized that we needed to be very careful with any type of food left out anywhere, even dog food, as the ants were sure to find their way into the cabin for any of it. It was difficult to keep the bathroom floor dry when someone used the shower or the sink.
Exceptional
Great cabin and lovely facilities + host
Liked: It was very clean A lot of stuff available in the kitchen and for leisure
Disliked: we became ill and therefore a little bit more reliant on WiFi & tv than usual - it became apparent that the WiFi is quite unreliable … normally that’s not why you should visit the Ardennes 😅😅😅
