Liked: Location, apartment
Liked: Location was amazing - so close to everything and very quiet. Raphael was so helpful too.
Disliked: We arrived in the dark and it was hard to find the apartment as the building had a different name to the one on booking.com. Raphael was very helpful when I called him.
Liked: Excellent location. Great accommodation - spacious and clean.
Absentee owner that does not care to invest in property
Disliked: There was no coffee in the room at check in. Raphael said he would bring us coffee in the morning. He never brought us coffee. All of the toiletries were a different brand. There was body lotion in the shower instead of shampoo. We kept asking for it. We found a half empty bottle of shampoo on the doorstep the last night of our stay. The doorstep is on the street with heavy foot traffic. The bed only had two pillows. I kept requesting an extra pillow and never received one. The owner, Mickey, told me there are two small pillows in the apartment. She meant a small decorative pillow. After six inquiries into getting coffee, shampoo and a pillow Mickey told me “I do not understand he sent me a photo I will give you a discount” a photo “from shampoo and coffee that he brought you”. The property owner lives in Amsterdam and clearly does not want to invest in the property. There was no bulb in the bedside lamp. The bed only has 2 pillows instead of four. The shower curtain only had half of the hanging hooks; One in every other hole. There are only two hangars in the wardrobe. So you cannot hang up your fancy clothes for the many Michelin rated restaurants. The two pillows and duvet were in decent white linens but the fitted sheet was a rough and worn green fabric. We were lied to every day by Mickey, that Raphael was going to bring us coffee and shampoo. No surprise that Mickey never refunded any of our money. Just another lie.
Liked: The apartments we rented were clean, spacious and very nice. Since the apartments are not in the absolute centre of the small village of Durbuy, it was mostly quiet despite the immediate proximity to all the shops and restaurants. It was possible to park our car there which was very handy as there are not many available parking spaces in Durbuy next to the apartments. As we drove an electric car it was important to have possibilities for charging our car during the stay. There are a few charging stations in Durbuy up to 22kw and a few fast chargers a few kilometers away.
Durbuy is a beautiful place to spend a few days relaxing and enjoying all the local facilities
Liked: Great location in the centre of Durbuy. The apartment is in a historic building next to a church and monastery. It's a beautiful place to visit and our host Raphael went out of his way to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend staying here!
Disliked: A local convenience store would have been useful as there was nowhere to buy groceries. The apartment has a good kitchen so next time we would make sure to bring shopping with us.
