  Nice staff and great location, but the hotel is a bit outdated

  Liked: The location is great, very central and close to the sea. We had rooms with a very nice view.

  Disliked: The rooms are a bit outdated. Breakfast was not the best; I think they could use better products.

  Beyond a hotel – an oasis of humanity, empathy, and world-class hospitality

  Liked: Having traveled to exactly 25 countries worldwide, I thought I had seen everything the hotel industry has to offer. However, my stay at the Astoria Hotel in Opatija proved to me that true excellence doesn't lie in the walls, but in the people... Due to my specific health needs, hypersensitivity, and a strict requirement for complete peace, traveling can be highly challenging for me. Ahead of my arrival, my family reached out to the hotel with specific requests regarding my communication needs and room placement. What followed deeply moved me and left me speechless (more than I am usually😂). The management and reception team didn't just meet our requests—they went above and beyond. To ensure I had absolute silence, peace, and isolation from sensory triggers, they proactively upgraded me to a beautiful, spacious suite at no extra charge. Additionally, they organized everything perfectly so that I could enjoy a peaceful breakfast on the beautiful terrace together with my dog, completely undisturbed. I want to express my deepest, most heartfelt gratitude to absolutely EVERYONE—from the reservations team who carefully handled the initial inquiry, to the reception staff who showed incredible empathy, and all the way to the cleaning staff and restaurant team on the terrace. You demonstrated a level of flexibility, intuition, and understanding that is rare to find in today's world. At a time when tourism often feels commercialized, Astoria Hotel Opatija serves as a SHINING example of what true hospitality should look like. You proved that genuine HUMAN kindness still exists and that empathy is PRICELESS. Thank you for giving me and my dog the most peaceful and beautiful stay of my life. I will definitely be back!
