  Good place to stay with a car and do the Lakes in a different way

  Liked: Staying on the "opposite side" of the Lakes. Place was nice and woodsy - perhaps a bit isolated from other food options. Road in is a bit narrow and windy, so we didn't want to drive back to the main road at night to find other food options. That said, the food at the Lodge was excellent. We chose to stay here because we could easily park and not deal with the parking lots at the main entrances - a definite win. Different approach to going to the Lakes - entry #3 which doesn't sell tickets - be sure to get them ahead of time. Hike back up from the lakes - but not too bad. If you stay here, then I would recommend hiking the Lakes differently than most blogs. Go first directly to the lower lakes (yes, you are going against the normal direction). And go early. Then take the upper route from Entrance #1 to catch the "train". Take the train to the uppermost station and walk down through the upper lakes. Then take the boat back to P3. That worked out great. Be aware that you will probably need cash to pay. The Plitvice Lakes were amazing - highly recommended.

  Beautiful setting located a short walk to Plitvice with a fun dinner atmosphere with good food

  Liked: There was an easy walk into the Plitvice park and a great dinner waiting for us at the end of our busy day. The breakfast was varied and excellent. A charming, mountain setting with comfortable, clean rooms.

  Liked: Great location for entrance three to the park! I originally bought my ticket for entrance one but the friendly staff told me I could walk right in at entrance three, only a five minute walk from the accommodation.
