  A beautiful apartment in an excellent location, but the owner’s intimidating behaviour ruined my stay

  Liked: The apartment is beautiful, very spacious and stylishly decorated. It is clear that someone with a great eye for interior design put a lot of care into it. The location is excellent. I have absolutely no complaints about the apartment itself..everything was great.

  Disliked: I felt that my privacy was invaded by the owner’s behaviour. On the very first evening, she messaged me saying she had noticed someone visiting me in the apartment. In her next message, she mentioned that her husband was a police officer. In that context, I found this intimidating and felt it was an implied threat, which is an inappropriate way to treat a guest. Nobody stayed overnight except me, even though the apartment had been booked and paid for 2 people. If anyone else had stayed overnight, I would certainly have informed her. These were simply short visits lasting half an hour to an hour, which I considered perfectly reasonable. Even if visitors were not allowed under the property’s rules, this should have been explained politely and respectfully. The feeling that my visitors were being monitored, followed immediately by a reference to her husband being a police officer, made me uncomfortable and ruined what would otherwise have been a wonderful stay.

  Beautiful apartment and great messaging from the host

  Liked: Close to everything in the old town and not far to walk to / from the ferry. It is also good to feel as if you are living within the local community. The apartment is beautifully furnished and true to the pictures. The sofa bed was comfortable and the shutters and Aircon made for a dark, cool and quiet room which helped sleep. It was great to have the kitchen facilities as it was really hot weather and we needed some respite from the heat.

  Disliked: We had large suitcases (due to the nature of our entire trip) which made going up and down the narrow staircase a bit challenging, however that is to be expected in Split wherever you stay.

  Fantastic stay!

  Liked: Dani Central Apartment was fantastic from the moment we arrived. We arrived late at night but were still able to find the accommodation easily, which made the late arrival completely stress-free. The accommodation itself was beautiful, clean and tidy, and had such a lovely, homely and comfortable feel. With the weather being so hot, it was great to have somewhere we genuinely enjoyed spending time in and relaxing. The location was also fantastic. It was only a very short walk into the Old Town, making it incredibly easy to come and go as we pleased without having to plan our whole day around getting around. We had a great stay and felt very well looked after. We would happily stay here again!
