  First class

  Liked: A once very grand art-deco period hotel by the equally grandiose railway station. Slightly faded glories, but still a quality reality. Room was large with a view over the Place, bathroom also. Reception staff were friendly, helpful and professional. We visited the excellent art-nouveau Brasserie de l'Univers nearby, for supper. Good parking in the adjacent underground car park that seemed safe and cared-for.

  Disliked: A few niggles. Pillows were small. Pop-up washbasin waste didn't properly 'pop down'. Toilet was poorly positioned, with restricted 'knee space'....

  Liked: Enormous bathroom, you could wash a horse in it. Lots of hot water. Bathtub was deep and comfortable. Convenient location across from the gare. Easy walk to all the sights

  Location Great - sewage smell not so great

  Liked: Location was great - very busy outside due to the bus station but you could not hear the noise inside your room

  Disliked: The smell of sewage in the room. Staff said it was 'old plumbing'. Bar was very rarely open. Breakfast was very basic and the breakfast room was small for such a large hotel

  Disliked: Couldn’t get near it to unload the car, receptionist I spoke to on the phone was so rude I blew the stay out and booked into another hotel in Lemans.No private parking but it was in an offsite car park which is not what I wanted as I had lots of stuff in the car I didn’t want to leave on display in a car park

  Liked: Clean and good location for city

  Disliked: So called bar didn't serve beer or hot drinks. No till so disappears for 5 mins to get change. Also booking.com write up misleading. There is NO private parking. Cars go in nearby underground park. We were on motorbikes and didn't fancy that so chained up outside. First staff member a bit surly when we said we weren't parking in a remote park.

  Disliked: The hotel claims they have parking space, but in the end its a public parking garage and you will have to pay for it yourself
