  Liked: The reception staff were absolutely exceptional. I was warmly welcomed by both receptionists when I arrived before check-in, especially the Italian receptionist, who was very kind and welcoming on my birthday. I would particularly like to recognise João, a Brazilian staff member, for his outstanding customer service. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, helpful and professional. When I twisted my ankle during my first day in Berlin, he offered me ice, showed genuine concern and advised me about seeking medical assistance. His kindness and support made a huge difference to my stay. His service was comparable to what I would expect from a five-star hotel. I have stayed at other Generator properties before and had good experiences. The staff at this location were genuinely excellent, and I really appreciate their hospitality and human approach.

  Disliked: Unfortunately, the sleeping pod accommodation and facilities were extremely disappointing. This was my first time staying in a pod, but the experience was far below expectations. The bedsheets had black stains and a very long hair on them. The pod was extremely hot, and the ventilation or air-conditioning was not working properly. The room had more than 30 sleeping pods, as far as I could tell, but only two of the four showers were working. The bathroom facilities were in poor condition: one shower had a broken door, only one had a shelf for toiletries, and there was only one hook for hanging clothes. The following morning, I woke up with a painful ankle and discovered that all the toilets were blocked. This was particularly frustrating and unacceptable. The Wi-Fi was also very poor, which is disappointing because I have experienced the same problem at other Generator properties. This is a recurring issue that needs to be addressed. My comments relate specifically to the pod accommodation and facilities I used, rather than the entire building. Unfortunately, the cleanliness, maintenance and overall condition of these facilities seriously affected my stay. Without the exceptional service provided by the reception staff, my experience would have been even worse.

Good to know

PAYMENT: For Advance Purchase rates/Non Refundable rates, we require the payment card used for booking to be presented upon check in.

GROUP POLICY: Any reservation of 10 people or more per night will be considered a group with different terms and conditions. Groups reservations can only be made through our reservations team, and Generator reserves the right to cancel it otherwise.

PAYMENT: All guests will require proof-of-age ID upon check-in. The full cost of the booking must be paid at least one month prior to arrival. Late payment will result in the rooms being resold.

AGE RESTRICIONS: In Germany unaccompanied 16 to 18 only are permitted to stay in private rooms. To do so, they must present Generator's parental/guardian consent form and a copy of valid photo identification from the parent/guardian. Unaccompanied under 18's are not allowed to stay in shared rooms, unless they are part of a group that has booked out the entire shared room. The group leader must provide the required documentation to Generator. Failure to comply with these policies will result in automatic cancelation of the booking with no refund. Guests violating these rules will not be permitted to check into the Hostel.

Minors accompanied by a legal guardian/parent can book a private room.

The legal guardian/parent must stay in the same room. If relationship status is not clear, a completed parental consent form must be presented.

If minors are part of a school group that has booked an entire dormitory, they can stay in a dorm.

PET POLICY: We would welcome a dog on property but only when staying in a private room, and subject to a fee per dog per Stay. Only Dog under 75lbs./ 34kg.Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.
