  Overall reasonable value, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good

  Great location, nice hotel. Wifi and customer service need improvement!

  Liked: Good location, very comfortable and spotlessly clean hotel

  Disliked: Hotel Wifi and movile phone network coverage inside hotel both very poor- difficult to get some simple emails sent. At breakfast the staff( in particular the guy who seemed to be in charge) were very abruptly and rudely clearing up all food, turning off lights etc once it had just turned 10am- not very hospitable and spoiled the experience!

  Liked: Great location, shockingly poor customer service. The central location and positive reviews were the reasons I chose Hotel 38.

  Disliked: I booked just 30 minutes before arrival. Unfortunately, Oranienburger Straße was completely blocked by a major demonstration and police barriers, making it impossible for me to reach the hotel. I called reception for guidance, explaining that I was pregnant and couldn't safely get through the crowds. Instead of helping, the receptionist became aggressive and raised his voice. He suggested cancelling my reservation, but when I explained that I'd booked a non-refundable rate through Booking.com, he dismissively told me to contact them myself. Booking.com's support team was very understanding and tried to find a solution. However, cancelling without charges required the hotel's approval, which the property refused to give. I fully understand that demonstrations are beyond the hotel's control. What isn't beyond its control is how it treats its guests. I wasn't expecting special treatment, just basic courtesy and a willingness to help. Instead, I experienced hostility, no practical assistance, and a complete lack of empathy. Very disappointing. Based on this experience, I would not book here again, especially at a non-refundable rate.

  Pleasant stay in a nice and fresh hotel in a perfect location

  Liked: Friendly welcome, good, clean and nicely furnished room, excellent location.

  Disliked: Except for the pillows that were soft for my taste, I had no complaints.

  Liked: The location was great.

  Disliked: The shower was an issue any time of the day. I set the temperature but it didn't matter, one minute it was freezing cold and then it would be scaling hot. This is dangerous as I could have been seriously burned. I did report it to the staff.
