Liked: The name sounds nice. Building’s exterior is charming.

Disliked: Very up-to-date. It was jest before Halloween and the „hotel” was appripriately dark, stinking like hell - fags mixed with old socks, dirty and had employed genuine monsters at the reception. Actually russian-speaking „staff” only.

Liked: Room is large and like the high ceiling, art deco and large bathroom.

Disliked: It's a bit old school style hotel, also no kettle, no coffee, nothing but the room. Also the location is a bit out of comfort zone.

Overall, a very comfortable base for my two weeks stay in Berlin

Liked: It seems to have once been a rather grand house dating from the 19th century, but of course superbly modernised. My impressive chandeliered room was fitted out with a large modern wardrobe and a well-lit writing table, and an immaculate bathroom. It is in an elegant leafy neighbourhood, actually closer to Kant Strasse and the delightful Savigny Platz, an area of bookshops cafes and restaurants and about 10 mins walk from the Theater am Westen. and the The Hat jazz bar under the railway arches.

Disliked: Be warned that you have to go up a flight of stairs after entering the front door. There is supposed to be a lift but I never found it. The reception is in a side room at the top of the stairs. The staff seemed a bit remote, I never saw them again after initial check-in

If you are looking for a nice place to stay with easy access to trains, cafes, restaurants, book stores, shopping then t

Liked: The area is surrounded by lovely cafes for coffee or a meal and lots of shopping and restaurants. Close to train which means you don’t need a car and it’s close to the Tiergarten Park. But best of all it’s a lovely feeling area with the Savignyplatz park next to hotel. Park is quite different. Anyway, we had a delightful stay in Berlin, and this hotel felt right for us. Rooms are large.

Disliked: The hotel is quite old so lots of stairs, there is an elevator at the back of the building that is easy access but it goes between floors so there is still a bit of walking up stairs to do, carrying luggage.

Liked: Great location, room was comfortable and was tidied up and cleaned each day. Location excellent.

Disliked: Plenty of stairs, has a less polished feel, felt a bit casual. Public areas need to be refreshed
