Fabulous place to stay while in Berlin. Will recommend to all

Liked: The location was excellent. Close to shops, transportation and restaurants and quiet neighbourhoods. The architecture was stunning. The shared meeting kitchen was exceptional. Lovely to meet other guests. The gardens offered a tranquil space away from the street. We were given a room with stairs from the bed to the bathroom. Not accessible for us. We spoke with the manager and they were able to offer us another room with an extra daily surcharge. Very accommodating and understanding

Disliked: The information in the booking.com write up should state that the room offered has stairs from the bed to the bathroom. Let's those with accessibility needs be aware.

    Magnificent urban oasis! Amazing stay!

Liked: Garden, common areas, hotel room, rooftop pool... the list goes on and on!

Disliked: I would have appreciated air conditioning in the rooms.

    Uniquely Quirky but Sadly Disappointing

Liked: This is truly an amazingly quirky hotel, an old prison that has been transformed into a hotel. The hotel is kept clean and tidy by an amazing housekeeping team.

Disliked: Where to start… 1. Upon arrival we were told all about the amazing restaurant. Unfortunately the reception team failed to tell us it was closed on Sundays and Mondays, we arrived in the Sunday and so this left us having to find and travel to an alternative external restaurant. 2. The rooms are extremely small and people need to be aware that if you are travelling with someone, you need to be intimately close with them. The shower/toilet is only separated by one door which is see through and you can hear everything! 3. To get from reception to your room you have to walk 2-blocks to get there, if you want to move to the different areas of the hotel, you often have to leave the hotel and then re-enter. 4. There is underground carpark but again you have to exit via a flight of stairs, not easy with luggage and at €54 a night, this doesn’t offer great value. 5. Breakfast is your typical continental self service breakfast with no al a cart option available.

A beautiful and unique hotel with great amenities

Liked: A beautiful well maintained building with generously sized rooms. Beautiful rooftop pool and the nicest sauna I’ve seen in a hotel.

Disliked: A bit of a maze. Got lost a bit at first. But got used to it quickly.

Stunningly renovated hotel with great vibe

Liked: Stunning architectural renovation …and an excellent vibe.Great staff. And code to Museum of Photography which I came to see.

Disliked: The location is not in the best area for quality upmarket restaurants…..choice was mainly Indian, Middle eastern and pizza……I found only one authentic German bar.
