  Great quiet location, but for the price we paid I would have expected much better furnishings and equipment

  Liked: Great location, spacious terrace, and most lights had dimmers on them.

  Disliked: All the furnishings were very old which in itself isn’t a bad thing, but the TV was very old and had very few channels in English and no access to streaming platforms like Netflix. The frying pans were all badly scratched and in very poor condition. The king size bed seem to be turned the wrong way and very hard to walk around the bed or open the cabinet doors because of it. Our host, Karl had built an iron frame to make it longer on one side, but this made the situation even worse as I bump my knees on it at night. The holder for the shower head was broken and kept falling down.. you could not use the intercom to let people in because the host insisted that the bottom door be double locked. I’m a landlord myself and have a number of Airbnb’s so I tried to point out a few things to our house Karl in a nice way. I even went so far as to send him a link where he could buy new Samsung 44 inch flat screen tv for a little over €300. Regrettably his answer was “I don’t listen to complaints“ and that I was very ungrateful. I had tied a line around the showerhead to hold it up, and he yelled at me please get rid of that ugly piece of line!

  Lovely spacious apartment with backyard and great location

  Liked: The property is located in a beautiful part of Hamburg, with easy and quick access to the city centre and lots of shops and restaurants in the nearby. The apartment was spacious, quiet and very clean with a lovely backyard at the back. Our host Karl was very responsive, super helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend!

  Very nice place in a good location with a wonderful host but don’t expect anything more than the pictures of the living

  Liked: Very friendly and helpful host in a beautiful location

  Disliked: It was very challenging to find because the pictures online appeared to present itself as a much larger facility with pools etc. It’s a very nice 3 bedroom 1.5 bedroom + small kitchen and 2 sitting rooms on ground and basement floors. If you bring a vehicle parking is a challenge but the host will help you with that so ask in advance.

  I would not recommend anyone stay here - the host is a fattist!

  Liked: I had not read the fine print at the very bottom of the link to say that in addition to the booking.com fee, I had to pay Euros 300 deposit plus the city tax via paypal prior to arrival. Karl messaged to say I need to pay it, but then in my error, I thought I could sort it out when I arrived as I did not have paypal. This created a major issue and great unpleasantness for my colleagues who arrived before me. They had to draw Euros 300 cash to pay in order to get access to the apartment.

  Disliked: The host was EXTREMELY rude to my colleague. Amongst other discriminatory comments, Karl called my colleague OBESE and HANDICAPPED (she does not have a handicap)- on a number of occasions. He then proceeded to say that she could not sit on some of the furniture as she was obese and he is not insured if his furniture breaks. She was so upset and humiliated, and felt completely unwelcome and unsafe staying in the apartment. She left immediately and was forced to pay to stay in a hotel for the 6 days. Not only did this have a massive financial impact, this completely ruined her 6-day visit to Germany. She felt unsafe on her own and didn't venture past the hotel and the conference venue in fear that all Germans were as cruel and discriminatory as Karl. This obviously also ruined our stay. To make matters worse, we were forced to stay due to our financial constraints and the no cancellation policy. Although he reimbursed us for her tourist tax, he didn't offer to reimburse us the portion of the accommodation that was not used.
