  Quick stay in Hanseatic villa

  Liked: Charming villa close to the main station.

  Disliked: My bathroom is not directly linked to the room where I staid. I had to cross the floor where also other guests crossed my way. It´s a bit loud since the apartment is almost on ground level.

  Very well appointed and comfortable place to stay and in walking distance to public transport and many restaurants

  Liked: Great location close to Hamburg Central Station and a number of good restaurants. Having access to a kitchen as well as a washing machine an dryer was good.

  Disliked: The bathroom for Room 3 is very small.

  Once I got over the drawbacks in terms of expectations it was a good place to stay

  Liked: The location suited us well and the room was quiet and sizeable

  Disliked: This room did not meet my expectations- I felt misled by the description- I chose it for private bathroom and washing machine and tea making facilities in a mini kitchen - all of which I expected to be in what I thought was an apartment given the title Aparthotel Alster suite. However - the private bathroom was down the hall with the creakiest floorboards and accessed with a key, the tea making was in a shared kitchen downstairs and the washer dryer was also downstairs and in constant use for towels and not guests. We had to source our own toilet paper as there was not enough and no one to contact, and while I didn’t expect it there were no bathrobes or slippers as stated in the blurb. In the end I did use the washing machine and the kitchen and enjoyed our stay (except for fretting over toilet paper) but I feel the blurb could be much clearer

  Liked: I have been very pleased by my stay. As semi-budget option, for me it provided all essential things that are important for me: cleanliness, cosiness, comfort, privacy & piece. My room was the smallest option but it felt just enough to return to rest after a long day. Very comfy bed, clean private bathroom, kitchen with all necessary stuff. It is safe to say, that the stay at alsterSuite has pretty much saved my experience at Hamburg because town itself left poor impression. Hotel was my safe corner of piece.

  Disliked: Bathroom is hilariously small but that's manageable if you don't have issues with mobility. Sound insulation is questionable, once there was time I heard washing machine quite clearly but otherwise, environment was surprisingly quiet. No supermarket nearby was a slight inconvenience because I needed to buy some basic stuff but supermarkets at areas few blocks away from hotel are quite shady and not comfortable to walk in.

  A weekend in Hamburg to see a band

  Liked: Beautifully decorated. Convenient location. Amazingly comfortable bed.

  Disliked: Bathroom not ensuite so had to take key to have a shower/ use loo. Would have like drink facilities in room but shared kitchen was good.
