  Do NOT stay here! Not at all like the pictures!! Our family stay was completely spoiled!!!

  Disliked: Our family stay was completely spoiled. Despite the owner knowing in advance that our 11-year-old daughter uses a wheelchair, the property was effectively a building site, with ladders, tools, building materials, scaffolding, cables and workmen throughout. It should never have been allowed to receive guests in this state. We did not raise the complaint with the owner during the holiday as have read reviews that he can be confrontational and aggressive - and his English skills were poor so was no point. Booking.com have been useless in their support! Access and exit routes were blocked, our daughter could not move around safely or freely, and we were genuinely worried about getting out quickly in an emergency. The accommodation also stank of cigarette smoke because the owner was smoking in the building. It was disgusting. Between the dust from the building work and the cigarette smoke it was very difficult to breathe!! Do not believe the pictures - the place does not look like them. I’ll be attaching my own photos showing the real condition of the property. We raised a complaint with Booking.com, but were offered only a €62 credit for a four-night family stay. We also tried to get our money back directly from the owner, but he refused and took no accountability for the shocking state of the property. For what we paid and what we endured, that response is insulting. Avoid this property, especially if accessibility, safety, cleanliness or honesty in the listing matter to you.

  Great stay with friendly staff

  Liked: Merten's place is great! They are the friendliest staff and they offered me early check-in and coffee. Always with a smile -- super sweet uncles managing the place. The place has really interesting decor and it is a comfortable stay, would highly recommend:) It is also near the train station and essentials like DM and Rewe so everything is convenient.

  The perfect location for a long weekend (or more) in Hamburg!

  Liked: The check-in was smooth, the host friendly and accommodating. The property itself was charming, we were quite happy with the interior and comfort of our room. The bathroom, despite being shared, was impeccably clean. An iron was provided on request;-) Easy S- and U-Bahn access.

  Disliked: No shampoo / shower gel provided. Mattress too soft.
