  Modern high end hotel with terrific staff

  Liked: Very modern high end facilities and rooms. The staff was very helpful and even secured my coat when I left it in the bar overnight. It was walkable to the old town area but was ideally (for us) located next to the central train station as we were taking a train the following day

  Disliked: "I am sharing my terrible experience at the Sofitel Munich bayerpost, which turned out to be the worst stay of my life due to completely unprofessional, unethical, and inhumane treatment. ​I made my reservation through Booking.com several weeks in advance and fully paid for it upfront, even though it was quite expensive as a 5-star hotel. To my complete shock, upon arrival at the hotel, they demanded an extra 500 Euros as a security deposit—a fee that was never mentioned during booking, nor was I ever notified about it in advance by the hotel or Booking.com. When I tried to pay this unexpected deposit, I used my credit card, but unfortunately, it didn't go through, and I didn't have enough cash on me. Despite seeing my struggles and desperate attempts to resolve the issue, the staff showed zero empathy, acted completely heartless, and refused to handle the situation professionally or humanely. ​I was left stranded, facing the humiliating prospect of being kicked out onto the street at night with nowhere to go. The severe stress and psychological pressure they caused me were unbearable. I had to urgently contact my family in Morocco, who then had to reach out to our relative in Belgium. Thankfully, our relative in Belgium managed to contact the hotel directly and wire the 500 Euros to them. Only then were they willing to let me check in. This unethical, inhumane, and unacceptable treatment ruined my trip entirely. I strongly advise everyone to avoid booking or staying at this hotel."
