Exceptional
Comfortable and attractive, magnificent breakfast
Liked: This a most picturesque property in its own ( beautifully kept) gardens with pergolas and mature trees, great views and areas to sit and enjoy them. It is in a very quiet up market residential area, cobbled streets and lots of trees. My room was clean and comfortable, and well provided with small enhancements to help me enjoy my stay. Great sauna! But don't pay the Pfand if you've handed it back, as I did.
Disliked: I don't think much of the TV stations but I might have just chosen poorly. Also the room was overheated although the thermostats were set right down. And the instant coffee, although thoughtful, was tasteless and horrible. The tea wasn't much better.
close to the main garden and palace
Liked: nice hotel with a lot of stairs
Disliked: room had a lot of traffic (tv person came at least twice, handymen working outside our window, people walking past at all hours) we switched to a higher (more stairs) and less spacious room
Beautiful charming place, wonderful breakfast
Liked: Old world charm, lovely large room, great breakfast on terrace.
Disliked: A bit of a walk into town centre, but really not that bad.
An extremely comfortable place to enjoy a break
Liked: The staff were extremely friendly and went beyond their duty to make us comfortable. The ladies in the restaurant make a brilliant breakfast.. we enjoyed the best croissants which were fresh. Is you are staying please have the breakfast which is extremely authentic and fresh. The rooms were cozy. The parking is great. Even for a business meeting they have the facilities
Disliked: None
great location, fantastic breakfast but I won't return
Liked: Breakfast was amazing! The service incredible. They even added conditioning with wall units, which is rare. Went out of their way to help me clean a dress I spilled Pasta sauce on.
Disliked: there is NO elevator in the entire place and stairs/steps are in credibly steep. I am an athlete but I don't want to carry my heavy suitcases 2/3 and more flights of stairs. There is terrible parking at the property. Limited to a few cars and hard to park for a bigger car. The rooms are clean but old and the floors squeak. I could hear the person above me passing all night! You can hear the neighbors at times...
Mixed experience – lovely setting, but some practical shortcomings
Liked: We stayed in a family room and had a mixed experience. On the plus side, the location is very quiet and the grounds are well kept and attractive. Breakfast was generous, with a really pleasant outdoor terrace to enjoy it on — though if you want something freshly cooked, your only hot option is a fried egg (no omelette). Many places of interest can be reached on foot, and public transport is good if you need it. Unfortunately, several practical issues weighed things down. Parking was an absolute pain: the spaces are extremely tight, you pay for the privilege, and manoeuvring back out of the courtyard is a challenge in itself. Worse, if you leave your paid parking spot during your stay, there's no guarantee you'll get one back when you return. Our room had a sloped ceiling so low on one side that getting out of bed there was genuinely awkward. The bathroom clearly felt like a later addition to the room, and the separate toilet was more like a converted closet than a proper room. In the second bedroom, the children's beds were too narrow for comfort. Most annoyingly, the parents' bedroom had no proper curtains in places, so in summer the room gets bright very early in the morning. At check-out, nobody asked how our stay had been — a missed opportunity to hear this feedback in person. Overall: a peaceful spot with a nice breakfast setting, but the room design and parking situation left a lot to be desired for the price.
