You get what you pay for

Liked: You get what you pay for - given the central location it is ok. Clean and safe. Room 003 was good by means of noise and privacy.

Disliked: WiFi did not work (router should have been restarted but this did not happen before I left the other morning). Telekom signal was too weak in room #3 so I had to leave the room to go online which is quite inconvenient.

In practice, we were usually so tired after a full day out that the noise was not a major problem. I

Liked: We were very lucky to find this hotel. Our original accommodation fell through because the host stopped responding, so in the evening we suddenly had to decide whether to leave without getting any rest or try to find somewhere else to stay. I managed to book this hotel directly from my phone at the last minute, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. The biggest advantage is undoubtedly the location. It could hardly be better: right in the heart of Rostock’s Old Town, just a short walk from Neuer Markt. Shops, restaurants, cafés and tram stops are all nearby, with convenient connections to the main railway station and to the beach in Warnemünde. The Old Town itself is absolutely worth exploring on foot. We strongly recommend setting aside some time simply to walk around and discover the streets and historic surroundings. Our room was clean and relatively small, but perfectly comfortable for a family of three: two adults and one child. There is a kettle in the room, so you can make coffee, tea or even instant noodles. There are also plenty of places nearby for anything from a quick snack to a proper meal. About a ten-minute walk away there is a student canteen offering excellent lunches for around €7–10 per person. The shower had very good water pressure. The shower cabin itself is a little small, but it is worth remembering that the hotel is located in a historic building, so the layout naturally reflects the limitations of the architecture. We would definitely recommend this hotel, especially for its exceptional location, cleanliness and convenience.

Disliked: The only drawbacks were related to the courtyard. Our windows faced a shared courtyard with the service entrances of several restaurants. Until around midnight, there was some noise from air-conditioning or ventilation systems, and groups of teenagers sometimes came in to hang out on a bench. The fire escape outside our window also made us slightly uncomfortable. It is useful in an emergency, of course, but it can also be accessed from the courtyard below, so we simply closed the windows whenever we left the room. We also found one pillowcase that was not completely clean, but it was replaced immediately after we contacted customer support. The staff also offered us a different room because of the noise, which we appreciated, but unfortunately all rooms with three beds faced the same courtyard.

Great location but not great facilities

    Liked: The location was perfect

Disliked: Communication only in German. This was a self checking place. I had to ask somebody in the street to translate the message. You cannot deal in the hospitality business from an international platform and not communicate in English. And I am not English myself so no nationalism here, just the fact that English is the recognised international language. Also the bike garage was down a flight of stairs and I had to carry my bike up and down the stairs and it was very precarious. the room was up 2 flight of very steep stairs and nothing mentioned it on website. I had just finished a long bike ride and had I know I would have had a rest first. Finally no staff on site at all and this did not feel safe. Does not compare favourably with other places I stayed in in Germany for similar prices.
