A relatively enjoyable stay in a most historic city
Liked: Lovely room with a comfortable bed. All the Staff were efficient, keen and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Location was superb, right in the middle of the city so access to all the major sights was good. Also some lovely restaurants and tavernas not too far away
Disliked: The only very sour note was a most unfortunate incident away from the hotel. A note to everyone that Athens is NOT the safe city it is claimed to be. I had a mobile phone stolen on the Metro (the item was actually zipped up inside a bag and it was still taken). Travellers beware!!
Liked: It’s so grand and beautiful
Great location and excellent service in the room was nicer than expected
Liked: Everything was top-notch and we had a nice view of the Acropolis from the rooftop restaurant, and we had a view of the Parliament building and watched the changing of the guards from our balcony
Disliked: It was a little bit expensive but then again you get what you pay for.
Wonderful experience in a beautiful historic hotel in the heart of Athens
Liked: The location, staff, and lobby bar were all wonderful.
Disliked: The GB Rooftop Garden restaurant had a beautiful view, but the quality of food and service was not on par with other Michelin star restaurants in Athens. It was a very nice hotel restaurant, but not worth the price point.

The hotel would kindly request that all children are supervised by an adult at all times.
The Hotel Grande Bretagne is a non smoking Hotel therefore smoking is not allowed in the rooms, bars, restaurants or any public areas of the property.
Guests are welcome to check-in at 3pm. Check-out is at 11am, though the hotel is pleased to accommodate late check-outs upon request. In the case of a late check-out before 6pm, an additional half day rate will apply. For check-outs after 6pm, a full day rate will apply.
