Exceptional
Liked: It was wonderful, private, roomy, comfortable, quiet, peaceful, just what we wanted. A typical Greek cottage. Great decor, the kitchen had all we needed. There was plenty of bottled water. Some already cold. Great coffee machine. A sweet gift basket of local cookies and a bottle of local wine. The terrace was perfect with shade. Good lighting at night. Most windows had screens. Lots of local maps and information. Good strong WiFi. Plus the neighbors were friendly and helpful. Niko, who meets you at the parking lot, takes you to the cottage and shows you around is a wonderful guide. Very helpful with our heavy luggage!! Thank you Niko!!
Disliked: The only negative was that we didn't realize that you cannot get close to the cottage with a car. It's not easy if you have bad knees, or walking difficulties. A motorcycle/quad, bicycle or donkey would be the only transportation. You can get to a parking lot, then walk up hill, mostly steps and cobblestones to the cottage. It actually adds to the authenticity of the location. I just wish we had known ahead of time.
True traditional Greek island experience with the comforts of modern living
Liked: The host, Mr. Nikos welcomed us at the parking space and guided us to the house. We talked about the island and his life. It was such a beautiful experience.
Disliked: There is nothing I didn't like. Semless experience.
Disliked: 6-7 minuten walking (stairs, up hill) from closest point a car could reach. House full of centipedes (nest)
Pleasant place that ticks all the boxes. Good value for money. Host was great and very helpful!
Charming Cycladic house in traditional village
Liked: This is a beautiful traditional Cycladic house, very well maintained, with wonderful artistic touches. And it had the best shower of all the places we stayed during our 7-week oddyssey. Spiros, the manager, and Nikolas, the owner, were very kind. They arranged a taxi, met us on our arrival, and then manfully hauled our large bags up the steps to the house (and back down at our departure). Also, throughout our stay, Spiros was always eager to make sure that all was well. He even went beyond the beyonds by helping us get to our next accomodation, in Kastro--something he certainly didn't have to do. Eυχαριστούμε, Σπύρο.
Disliked: First, we realize now that we should have asked more questions about the location, given the mention of steps in other reviews, and given our age. If you are considering this lovely property, just be aware that there are many, and they're steep. If you're young, hale, and hearty, they will give you a sense of accomplishment. Otherwise, take the step-free path around the corner, to the left, that all the locals take their scooters up and down. Google Maps tells you the shortest route, not the least painful.
A delightful Cycladic house complete with everything, top welcome, ideal for long stays for up to 4 people
Liked: Here you can feel the Cycladic atmosphere and hospitality in every form. The house is more beautiful in person than in the photos, with attention to every detail. The kitchen was a real surprise because it is separate from the rest of the rooms. The outdoor space, a beautiful patio covered with bougainvillea and surrounded by lavender is the icing on the cake. On arrival, we were presented with two bottles of excellent wine, a packet of local biscuits and six bottles of water. What more could you ask for to start a holiday? The intimate and secluded location of the house, very close to Artemonas and the bus stop to Kamares, requires a bit of physical effort but the beauty must be conquered. I highly recommend this house and hope to return one day!
