Exceptional
Liked: Clean and decent location.
Disliked: Basic accomodation but the host was warm when we arrived. We'd had a lot of back and forth with her before booking to check whether the mattress would suit my partner, who has a sore back and needs a regular spring mattress to sleep comfortably. The host sent information that made it seem the bed would be suitable, but unfortunately when we arrived it wasn't, so we had to leave and find somewhere else. After we left, the host said she would have offered a mattress topper if we'd spoken to her first. That option was never mentioned at any point in our communication before or upon arrival, so it's hard to know how genuine that offer was. We were incredibly disappointed that the host refused to engage with us about offering to refund a portion of our six night stay. We understand hosts and Booking.com can set their own cancellation policies. But we'd only booked a few days before arrival, and the property was completely empty when we arrived — so it's not as though this was income she'd been relying on for months, and she wasn't losing out on another booking by refunding us. Given that, it didn't seem unreasonable to ask for some of it back. It might be correct according to policy, but a good host is also someone who's human and kind and decent in situations like this. We didn't find that from Studios Evkoda once we'd left — instead she was cold and unwilling to engage with how difficult the situation had been for us.
Liked: Our stay was wonderful. Location is perfect. They did everything they could to make us feel comfortable and at home. Super clean room and property. It was a privilege for us to meet the lovely people of this island. Wishing you all the very best, and may everything be as you wish.
Liked: Room was small but very clean and recently refurbished to high standard. Daily cleaning including fresh towels. Host Evdokia was very helpful and husband Chris picked us up from the port on arrival and returned us after our stay for our onward ferry. Set amongst olives groves with resident goats and lovely sea views. Close enough to all the resort amenities, restaurants and sandy beach. Good bus service to the island capital Apollonia for shopping and restaurants.
Disliked: Uphill walk of about 800 metres from resort centre and beach to the accommodation didn’t worry us but may be a bit daunting for some.
Liked: Great location, near the beach with beautiful sea views but far enough to support a more relaxing environment away from busy traffic. Very attentive and discreet support from the owners and superb cleaning service. Authentic, rural Mediterranean experience.
Disliked: It takes some time to find the right settings for the AC to minimise its noise, also the fridge in the apartment can be a bit noisy.
