Great hotel friendly staff and very clean

Luxury, set amongst breathtaking scenery…
Liked: The property is set against the most stunning backdrop of the Umbrian hills - absolutely beautiful. Inside it is a cross between a medieval museum, an art gallery and a modern hotel, very hard to explain!
Disliked: Access to the more advanced wellness facilities should be available for all room types.
Liked: A very complete hotel in a small town
Disliked: Charging for use of the SPA is most unusual.
Good but underwhelming
Liked: The location was excellent, just a short walk to the centre of Gubbio. The breakfast was very good with lots of variety, and the waiting staff remembered our complicated coffee order. We ate dinner one night and that was very good too with excellent recommendations for wine by the glass. The rooms were well equipped and maintained.
Disliked: The fact that you could only use the outdoor pool by paying E35 each a day! It wasn't clear that it was attached to the spa so you could only use the indoor pool without paying. This had an outdoor terrace that looked out at the building but we wanted to sit by an outdoor pool and look at the view without paying for full spa access, which we were not interested in. We also didn't like the fact that the hotel was empty. This meant that the levels of service were reduced with no one at the bar near the pool and often no one at the indoor bar. Finally, there was no attempt to tell us what was going on, either in the hotel or in Gubbio. We were surprised to see people drinking on the terrace on night as we were not aware that this was available and we were lucky to stumble on the Mille Miglia antique car race which the hotel seemed unaware of.
Liked: The room was perefect also the spa and pool were fancy and great the stuff and environment were great
