Exceptional
Liked: South of the city, so a closer walk from the train station, but still fast access to the center
Disliked: The small lanes around the hotel late at night off peak where a bit quiet, but safe enough, might be completely different in summer.
Highly recommend this friendly, great-value hotel with comfortable rooms and amazing breakfast
Liked: Staff incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful from reception to cleaners from the second we walked through the door. Breakfast was fantastic and plentiful, wide range of fresh food: hot, cold, sweet and savoury. Homemade cakes were amazing. Room was comfortable, bathroom large with great shower. Location was perfect - 5 minutes from both the main city walls and the old town.

A Lucca jewel!
Liked: A tomb-like quiet and spotless hotel on a car-free side street within the city walls. Great staff. Wonderful breakfast. Five minutes to the center of Lucca; 10 minutes to the train station. A fine ending for two Via Francegina pilgrims who walked from Lausanne.
