Liked: Our room at Il Cortile di Elisa & our flats was in fact a studio apartment, with a kitchenette and sitting area to complement the bedroom and bathroom. The property also includes access to a secluded common courtyard for guests. Location was central within the walled part of Lucca and provided easy access to all the attractions. The property was very clean, well equipped throughout, and provides excellent value. A thorough update had been recently completed and provides an attractive and functional space. The hosts were very accommodating and helpful with information about attractions, restaurants and cafés in the city and area.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike at all.
Homely large centrally located apartment with very friendly host
Liked: Really central this large apartment is well equipped for minor self catering and has a huge bed and large bathroom with shower. There is a small outdoor space but not really a courtyard, though enough for chilling with a book on a an autumn afternoon after sightseeing. Host Simone speaks perfect English and lives next door so will check you in and explain everything.
Disliked: It is open plan but on three levels: the entry with kitchenette and sofa/tv, then up three steps to the giant bed, then another couple of (steepish) steps gets you the closet and bathroom area. This is fine except if you wake in the night and are disoriented as a fall would be very easily done! Also the capsule coffee machine takes a lot of working out as there were no specific instructions - so I failed to get a morning coffee until my third and final day!
