Disliked: When I arrived at the hotel, I was informed that I would be moved to the hotel across the street due to an air-conditioning problem, even though no one had notified me in advance. I had originally booked a Deluxe Room. Unfortunately, my experience at the Melea Hotel was extremely disappointing. There was a very unpleasant smell in the room, as well as on the bed covers and pillows. I was also given a very small standard room, despite having paid for a Deluxe Room. When I raised the issue, the receptionist insisted that it was not a standard room. After I explained how extremely small it was, she offered to change it. However, it was already late, and I was leaving early the following morning, so I declined. Nevertheless, I believe I should have been given the room category I originally booked and paid for from the beginning. Update following the hotel’s response: After I posted my review, the hotel contacted me and took the time to understand the reasons for my disappointment. Liked: The customer service was excellent, Alessandro, Luca and Joseph were so kind, hospitable and considerate - they made sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were clean and the location was excellent, right in the beating heart of Italy. The terrace offers a gorgeous view of the city and can't be missed!
Liked: I like the location and reception staff they were so attentive and friendly
Disliked: I booked a five-night stay, and on the last night, the electricity went out due to rain. The rainfall was not particularly heavy, but when the power was restored, the air conditioning remained nonfunctional. As a temporary solution, the hotel provided an electric fan.
Great quality for money, clean and nicely located
