worst stay - very bad hotel
Liked: nothing at all, worst hotel ever
Disliked: I am writing to formally express our disappointment regarding our recent four-night stay at Royal Bissolati Hotel in Rome, for which we paid approximately €1,200. Given the price and the hotel's advertised standards, we expected a comfortable stay, professional hospitality, and a reasonable level of service. Unfortunately, our experience fell significantly below these expectations. I would like to highlight the following concerns: **1. Uncomfortable Mattress and Failure to Address Our Complaint** From the first day, we reported that the mattress was visibly curved and uncomfortable. Despite notifying the staff immediately, no effort was made to replace the mattress, change our room, or offer an alternative solution. **2. Unacceptable Housekeeping and Hygiene Standards** Throughout our stay, housekeeping was consistently inadequate: * The bed was poorly made. * Toiletries and shampoos were not replenished. * The bathroom mirror, sink, and floors were inadequately cleaned, with visible dirt and dust. * Cleaning utensils were left inside our room on one occasion. * Drinking mugs and glasses were not consistently replaced. * A tray containing rubbish and dirty glasses was left on the table. * The shower area showed concerning signs of moisture and mold on the walls. **3. Poor Customer Service and Lack of Accountability** What was particularly disappointing was the staff's attitude toward our complaints. Rather than acknowledging the issues, apologizing, or attempting to resolve them, staff members repeatedly defended themselves and shifted responsibility to housekeeping. Despite our repeated expressions of dissatisfaction, no manager approached us or attempted to address our concerns. **4. Lack of Basic Hospitality and Concierge Support** The concierge and reception services were equally disappointing. We received almost no assistance with recommendations, local guidance, or information about visiting Rome.

Modern and comfortable hotel
Liked: Excellent location, walking distance to Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon, Colosseum etc. and good connections with public transport. Very kind personnel at reception, breakfast area (especially Ganana) and room service. Cozy and modern room, comfortable bed with nice pillows and sheets.
Disliked: During our stay was to hot in hotel public areas. In the room AC was excellent.

Ok for a few days but wouldn't stay again
Liked: The beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning was great. It was well reset and restocked each day. The rooftop bar was nice.
Disliked: The reception staff weren't exactly the warmest or friendliest. When we arrived the woman looked up from the desk and back down, then started speaking Italian so we thought she was on the phone, we stood in front of her and waited for her to look up again and she just looked at us as if we were being awkward and confusing things. The lift is behind reception and she ignored us every time we walked past and as a paying guest, a simple acknowledgement or hello doesn't cost anything. We had a long journey to get there so the basic thing you'd like when you finally get to your hotel is a welcome but nope. The room was decent and modern. For being on a busy street it was nice and quiet. The shower was good and the bed was comfortable. While the room was restocked and reset everyday which was brilliant it wasn't fully clean there was stains in certain areas behind the sliding door to the bathroom and down the side. Location was a lot further out of the way than described and takes about 30 minutes walk to the Colosseum and 20 mins walk to Trevi fountain. The area is in the business district so very few leisurely tourists. The lift is tiny like claustrophobic is an understatement.
