Needs clarity, price transparency and investment to attract returning customers

Liked: We have been in this hotel several times before. We like the location and the facility

Disliked: The room we were initially given was far too small for three people. We paid an additional €50 per night to upgrade to a more spacious room for the following two nights. Given the already high nightly rate, I would have expected a suitably sized room from the start. The hotel appeared far from full, so the extra charge felt like an opportunity to make more money rather than provide a better guest experience. I was also disappointed that the advertised parking facilities cost an additional €7 per night. This extra charge should have been clearly highlighted when booking. Finally, the carpet at the reception and on the way to the restaurant was dirty and covered in stains, and badly needed a thorough cleaning or replacement. Overall, the experience did not justify the price.

Liked: A Horrible Experience – My bags were stolen! Serious Security Concerns and Utterly Disappointing Response from Hotel Management. My experience at this hotel was deeply distressing, and I would strongly caution anyone considering staying here. On the day of our departure, we brought our luggage to the hotel lobby while preparing to check out. We briefly stepped away to take photographs in the hotel’s garden. When we returned, we discovered that two of our bags had been stolen: my handbag, which contained my passports, cash and other valuable personal belongings, and another carrier bag containing my laptop. What made this already distressing experience even more heartbreaking was the hotel’s response when we immediately brought the incident to the attention of the reception team and management. Their first reaction was not to express concern, offer assistance or establish what had happened. Instead, they immediately absolved themselves of any responsibility and blamed us for leaving our bags unattended. There was absolutely no empathy, compassion or genuine concern for guests who had just experienced a theft within the hotel’s premises. We were practically begging the hotel staff and management to help us contact the police, but they offered no meaningful assistance. Instead, we were told to go to the police station ourselves to make a formal report before they would provide access to the CCTV footage. We were left to navigate the entire situation on our own, despite being distressed guests who needed immediate assistance. Things became even more suspicious while we were still in the hotel lobby. A young man walked into the premises carrying our passports, which had been inside the stolen handbag. He claimed to have found them lying somewhere on the floor outside the hotel. I collected the passports from him. This development should have immediately triggered serious security concerns.
