Very good
Liked: Location - Everywhere on Venice Island is great. This place is about a 17 minute walk from the train station, with multiple bridges to cross while carrying luggage. Can't complain, it's Venice. There is a luggage storage area to use before and after check in and out. Also, large, lockable cupboards in the rooms.
Disliked: Reception staff are available only at certain times. The bathrooms were very smelly, the beds were very wobbly, and the ladders were seriously uncomfortable to use.
No sleep, no amenities, uncomfortable
Liked: Nice garden, decent location not far from the station, Rialto, supermarket and a canal with restaurants and bars.
Disliked: One of the worst nights I ever had in a hostel, people kept coming from 10 pm - 3 am and the door woke me every time. I slept in a bunk bed which was the cheapest of the cheap, whenever the light Brazilian woman below me moved a little, the bed shook wildly and woke me. Staff pretty cold, kitchen stove barely worked, took 15 minutes to get some barely cooked omelet. Just one espresso cooker for all the hostel that also didn’t work. Also pricey but I guess it was a busy weekend. Can not recommend at all.
Bring your own towel. Bring an eye mask and be prepared to sleep in a tiny bed with no privacy in what could be a very w
Liked: A property is in a really lovely location. It’s very secure and private with plenty of garden area if you do not wish to leave the property. But that’s not the idea when you go to Venice. There is plenty of luggage storage per person with a lock facility. It is a gated facility so it is very quiet.
Disliked: Yes, I know I booked a hostel and it was only the second hostel that I had stayed in but there was a very big difference between the two. (Just for reference; The first hostel I stayed in, I was in a dorm with eight women. Each bunk had their own curtains, a bedside light and personal fan so that you could close the curtain to give yourself an area of privacy and control comfort. It also provided towels). This hostel I was literally just a small, kid size bed in the middle of a room. There are two showers in the room but No towels were provided. The lights were left on so that people coming in late from partying could be safe. This is not very pleasant if you are tired from a long journey, you just have to try and sleep with lights on directly over your head. There was one toilet between six people which was located inside one of the two shower cubicles. There was a terrible septic stench coming up through the floor drain in the shower, which they cover with a plastic thing to try and stop the smell. Other than a ‘staff member’???, when I arrived at 9:30 pm, I did not see any other staff members in my two day stay. The reason I don’t think she was a staff member was because she didn’t really know anything. She was just there to check my ID and give me keys. She didn’t even know how to work the air-conditioning. The room was hot when I arrived and I noticed that there was a ceiling fan and an air-conditioner, when I asked her how to turn them on she didn’t know. I investigated further and neither were usable. The ceiling fan did not work and there was no remote control for the air-conditioner. Apparently it wasn’t summer anymore so we didn’t need it.
Disliked: check in time was too short, after this time, there was no possiblity to get in. no phone call no belling in front of the door.
A good affordable place for biennale
Liked: Good location and well equipped kitchen!
Disliked: Beds were a bit soft and our room was very hot during the night (end of September). We were on 1st floor and sun was directly into the room. No ac only fans but we had to keep our door open for ventilation. also there were many mosquitos.
Great location. Poor bathroom and check-in service
Liked: The location is spectacular. Historical location in a very local/student neighborhood away from usual touristic tracks but not so far either. Very close to central station. Matress was good.
Disliked: Check-in times are limited and I had to cancel the first night cause I've have arrived too late. Bathroom was always on the dirty side. Few hanging options, leak from the shower and shower door was broken. The shower head support doesn't move up and down on the bar. For 70 euros per night you'd expect something more...
