  Cute, clean, convenient

  Liked: Great location close to Villa Lante and to the village piazza. Very sweet hostess, who carried my bag up two flights of treacherous Renaissance-era stairs to my room. Spoke no English and I spoke no Italian, but we did OK. Room was larger than expected and had a queen sized bed, also not expected. Windows overlooked the piazza, which was hoppin' that night, but I could close the windows AND indoor shutters to sleep. It's fun to see the locals socializing in the traditional men-only and women-only groups in front of the gelato stand. Parking was sort of close-by, just downhill by the train tracks. Although Google maps will tell you to drag your suitcase up the parking lot drive, across a bridge with no sidewalk, and up the street to the hotel, there are instead 2-3 access allies between the lot and the next street.

  Disliked: If you visit in the fall, expect that no restaurant will be open. I relied that night on the local prepared food takeout and dined on cold frittata and beer. I had expected a prepared breakfast but instead got what appears to be the usual for such places in Italy, which was packaged "toast," Nutella, boxed juice, and those "meh" Italian croissants (they look French, but don't let them fool you). But she did make me some nice coffee.

  not an experience to repeat

  Disliked: They still don't have any form of electronic payments, receipts of having my money still on paper. Room was clean but smelt of mould
