Perfect location to visit Volterra and hosts that go above and beyond making the stay amazing

Liked: Great location very close to volterra. Lucca and his wife are great hosts, they go above and beyond with and outstanding breakfast which is delicious and different everyday. Furthermore they provide great tours maps for different tours throughout Tuscany. We had a great stay and would love to come back someday!

a lovely comfortable hospitable villa outside Volterra which represents excellent value for money

Liked: This really is a strong recommendation. We arrived, and the host, Lucca, gave everyone a bit of a super speedy orientation to the hotel and the area. He really goes to trouble. He has a map with lots of tourist routes from the villa, and all you have to do is picture a QR code for each of the routes—he really has done so much work on making people's stay in Tuscany enjoyable, and he is very enthusiastic. Our room had a patio area looking down into a lovely Tuscan valley and plenty of space in the room. And a very decent, well-maintained bedroom and bathroom. Located about 5 or 6 brisk minutes' drive outside Volterra, Lucca, the charming host is embarrassingly generous about giving a lift into Volterra. There are taxis, but they are not always available, and they are slightly on the expensive side. Lovely views from the property down into the valley Very nice grounds and swimming pool. The breakfast has absolutely got something for everyone and is one of the very best breakfasts. I've come across it in several years of Italian holidays. Breakfast is served on a lovely terrace. Looking out for the country for those individuals who are gluten-free as well as the usual hot breakfast of egg and meat and cheese options. There also were several beautifully homemade gluten-free cakes every morning. Just fantastic commitment to looking after guests. Luca's mom, dad, and wife are all part of the team. We travelled in shoulder season, and I must say I felt value for money was excellent, and here was a host who really wanted people to enjoy themselves. It wasn't a case of "we have lured you here and got your money. Now let's get some more out of you." It really was a very enjoyable, heartwarming experience. I rarely recommend somewhere unreservedly But I do recommend Villa Rioddi unreservedly

Disliked: I really don't think things could have been much better. If the property was A one-minute safe walk from Volterra, then it might have been better, but then there would not have been the wonderful peace and quiet that exists around Villa Rioddi.

Charming villa nestled among beautiful olive groves

Liked: A truly charming villa nestled among beautiful olive groves, offering an authentic Tuscan experience! We spent two wonderful weeks here in a spacious, well-appointed apartment with a fully equipped kitchen and a beautiful terrace where we enjoyed breathtaking sunsets over the Cecina countryside. The location is ideal, just a five-minute drive from Volterra, making it a perfect base for exploring this beautiful part of Tuscany. But what truly made our stay unforgettable was the breakfast — quite simply, the most amazing breakfast we have ever had, not only in Italy but anywhere else! Every morning was a feast of delicious local specialties, including a wonderful selection of cold cuts, cheeses, and various appetizers, along with an incredible assortment of homemade cakes lovingly prepared by Luca’s ( the owner) wife. Everything was fresh, authentic, and absolutely delicious. This place perfectly combines the charm of a traditional Tuscan villa, the beauty of the surrounding countryside, and the warmth of genuine hospitality. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend our two weeks in Tuscany. Highly recommended, and a place we would love to return to!

    Great Stay!

Liked: A beautiful, well-maintained building, apparently dating back to the 12th century, with all the modern amenities. The location was excellent, with lovely views and convenient free parking. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed, and the breakfast was delicious. The large swimming pool was a wonderful bonus. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Disliked: One small consideration: access to the rooms may be challenging for older guests or anyone with limited mobility, as there are several steps and no lift. This can also be difficult if you have a lot of luggage, although the owner is always happy to help carry it.
