Liked: We ADORED our stay here!! Once we booked they provided thorough instructions on where we could park (we were driving) and how we could get to the riad from our parking location - even though the Riad is within the walls of old Medina (which is so cool) the parking was only a 5 minute walk away and the instructions were clear and so helpful. When we arrived we were greeted by a wonderful man who checked us in and spent the time to give us a map. He drew on the map to show us where ATMs were, where places that served alcohol were, where the beautiful sites were, where we could go for affordable authentic food, the places we should avoid because they're over priced and where we could go to shop for certain things. I had done a bunch of research before and I clearly did not need to because his insider information was all we needed! Because this gentleman took the time to show us the map we knew exactly where to go for everything. That led us to having two amazing dinners and enjoying the most incredible experience at the fish market. He had told us about where we could go to buy fresh fish and then get it grilled on site to eat... that was an experience I will never forget. I am still thinking about it. I'll dream about it forever. Hear me out.. when he tells you about the fish market listen to him, then follow his instructions and have the best experience of your life. The riad itself was so beautiful. Our room was fantastic. The rooftop was beautiful and the breakfast was amazing. The location is absolutely perfect, you can walk everywhere you want to within the medina, and the beach is a short walk away. On our check-out day, we were exploring and I raced back to get our things out of the room and he gentleman told me not to worry... he said we could shower and take our time if we wanted to. So kind!

Beautiful accommodation for a perfect stay in Essaouira
Liked: Beautiful room, kept perfectly cool. The space was clean & well looked after. The staff were friendly & helpful. Stunning view from the balcony. Delicious breakfast with strong coffee.
Disliked: The alleyway that leads to Chems Bleu is a little hard to find.
The Absolute Best Riad in Essaouira Old Town!
Liked: If you are looking for the perfect place to stay in Essaouira, Riad Shems Bleu is hands down the best Riad in the old town. The location is incredibly convenient, just a 3 minute walk from the main old town gate, yet it feels entirely private, quiet, and secure once you step inside. The standards of cleanliness and service were completely exceptional. We spent 4 nights in the Rouge Double Room, which is one of the larger rooms available. It offered plenty of space and opened up to a beautiful, large courtyard patio. We truly couldn’t have asked for anything more. Another major highlight is the roof patio where we had breakfast every morning, which offers a beautiful ocean view. What really sets this place apart is the hospitality. The host, Sufian, was extremely attentive and helpful in every way imaginable, going above and beyond to ensure our visit was enjoyable. To top it all off, the breakfast was a flawless 10/10 served fresh, delicious every single morning. Highly recommended and will definitely be back!

Awesome
Liked: Such a beautiful riad in a great but quiet location. The rooms are cosy and well-equipped, perfect for a few days by the coast. The staff was incredibly kind, helpful and informed us about some great places. Breakfast was plentiful and simply lovely to have on the terrace upstairs.
Disliked: The only thing I would suggest is a shower curtain:)
