Exceptional
Good stay
Liked: The host was easy to contact and responsive on Whatsapp. The apartment was in the medina on a quiet street facing a primary school. For your information, it is easy to reach the medina from the train station if you take the no 19 bus. From the terminus it is about 10 to 15 minutes walk to the apartment. You must download a map as it can be quite confusing to navigate otherwise. The apartment has wooden deco outside and a sign at the entrance. The apartment matched the photos. It was warm at night and quite cosy. We chose the junior suite and it was on the top floor with the terrace. The terrace provides some of the best views you can get of Fes, which is really a highlight of the apartment and is great to have a drink and eat while enjoying the view. The wifi works very well and there is plenty of hot water for showers. Shampoo, soap and towels were provided. The kitchen is small but well equipped for cooking.
Disliked: The only issue was the kitchen faucet, the cold water tap was not working properly. Just to note the junior suite is on the top floor so you will have to climb several narrow flights of stairs. The apartment is also located quite high up in an already hilly area, so there is a bit of climbing to do from the main square, and not advisable if you have heavy luggage or suitcases.
Liked: The host was incredibly kind and met us at our taxi to show us to the riad. The riad itself was so comfortable, with plenty of room, great air conditioning, and a beautiful view of historic Fes.
Avoid
Liked: Seems like a scam. They called me on WhatsApp and when I didn't answer they sent a message saying all of the apartments were booked and I should request to cancel. This seems to be a popular occurrence in Fes.
Disliked: They shouldn't advertise an apartment that isn't available.
Good
Liked: A beautiful traditional Moroccan house, with a stunning view over the old city. Everything is within walking distance and the host Yasin is a very friendly and helpful person. Karama is a special word in Moroccan and means more than just hospitality; Dar Karama certainly lives up to its name.
Disliked: Everything was fine
Beautiful view and great location
Liked: The location was good, the apartment is also big and the view was amazing.
Disliked: The shower drain was clogged, so the shower floded.
Liked: Everything was perfect. Amazing view from the rooftop terrace.
Disliked: Not really an issue but if you are old or infirm the room is up 6 flights of stairs.
